Lunch with friends from high school
Back in March, I was sent a Facebook message by a friend I used to hang out with in high school. It was unexpected, but we had a little reunion in April this year. We’ve spoken since then and organised a Friday lunch together over the bank holiday. Safe to say, I now have friends I’ve known for more than a decade!
I went to a friend’s house in London and did Zumba
Marie is one friend I often see when I go to London. This time, at her new house! She finally moved to a flat, and I cannot be more proud of her. As any adults would, we danced to Zumba on her Nintendo Switch. Two hours before the concert, while at her house, I nearly talked myself out of going to The Script’s concert that I had booked since October 2021, but she convinced me to, so I went, and I am glad I did.
I went to The Script concert
Because I have a master’s deadline on Monday and a driving test on Monday, I nearly talked myself out of this until the last minute when Marie convinced me to go anyway because I deserve rest and need to enjoy myself. I decided to go and was grateful that I could stay at a friend’s place after the concert that night which meant that I didn’t have to rush myself back home until Sunday morning. I had a free upgrade to the first-row seat in the O2 Arena, as close as one can get without being blocked from the view by anyone – as a short gal, I appreciate this!
Submitted an assignment
Hard to believe, but after a rather hectic weekend and rush, I submitted my assignment on time! I am not the person to fully start the whole assignment until the last minute, so I had the skeleton of the writing beforehand and cleaned up the content on the Sunday before the submission.
I failed my driving test with one major
This is my second practical test. Hopefully, I pass on my third try? Who knows. I had to wait a whole week before I could book another test. The backlog for tests is a horrendously long wait. I hope my booking app will help me secure an earlier test; a girl can hope!
Attended a webinar on freelancing
I have always been curious about freelancing and wondered what I could do to start freelancing as a side hustle. I love the security that comes with my current job. However, I need a backup plan in case something happens. Life is uncertain, and I am someone who would always feel better with a backup plan.
I went for lunch with my first ever Thai friend in the UK
A friend that I met in the corridor of my high school. She’s the first-ever person to speak to me since my arrival in the UK, and I am glad we still kept in touch. We went to Thai Square in St Albans for lunch and strolled around town a little later.
Deep cleaned my whole house and my cupboard
With so much going on in my life, I barely had time for deep cleaning, so I am glad I could make time for this. I cleaned out the clothes I no longer wear, donated them to charity, cleaned the whole house, and tidied up our storage room. We’re a household that keeps many boxes. We keep the boxes for insurance for a while when we buy anything. Some have been living there rent-free for too long, so it was time we parted ways through this deep cleaning.
Celebrated Owen’s birthday
Thursday was Owen’s birthday. We headed to Miller & Carter with Owen’s parents for lunch. After lunch, we invited them to our house to chat and chill. Owen and I are luckily both very chilled people and prioritised rest, so we didn’t do much else for his birthday. We enjoyed the special day in the comfort of our own home.
I went for lunch with a dear friend from Barcelona
Not often do I get to see friends that live abroad, but my dear friend from Barcelona, who I met when I was on an internship in Brussels. He was in London for a day, and we organised lunch. We walked around the city and had some tasty desserts. We chatted in what looked like a garden near Tower Bridge. Safe to say it was a quality catch-up.
Started a project – Dear Digital Marketers
I’ve had this in mind for a long time and just started working on the project recently. Won’t be long before I can share more information on this project.
Started another project – Oh My Paws
As much of a busy gal that I am, I constantly come up with new project ideas, and the thing is, I always make it happen. It’s not because I am hoping to make money or anything from it, but because I enjoy these little projects, and they keep me busy. I hope to start a series on this blog where I share the process of bringing the Oh My Paws business to life, documenting the journey and all that fun things!
I caught up with my blog again
Being so busy left made me leave my blog on hold for a long time, which was not my intention, and I am still starting many projects there – I didn’t learn that I am already busy as I am, but I am glad I am here picking it back up again. One thing I notice is that I write long blog posts? Maybe I should consider making it shorter so I can write more often.
