Unlike a lot of people who use their holidays for trips scattered throughout the year, I am different. I book it for one huge holiday and Christmas break so this is my first ever holiday since December 2019. I was supposed to be going to Thailand pretty much this Friday but it has been cancelled. Now I am off for two weeks just to have a break before starting my new job at a Fintech firm. Knowing me, I probably won’t have a break because I love keeping myself busy doing what I love.
As we have a second lockdown this Thursday here in the UK, I have been trying to fill the early weekdays of this week with things that need to be done outside like seeing some friends and getting a massage. All of that aside, I then move on to the things that can be done on the screen or at home.
Create a website for Craftology by Bolly
I was very hesitant about creating a website for Craftology By Bolly. However, based on my research, it seems like it would be the best option as Etsy does take a huge cut and then we have another cut with PayPal. I think it is a good idea to have a website for my business anyway so I am spending this week setting it up.
Launch earrings on Craftology by Bolly
I have always loved crafting as a child. Growing up, I have been obsessed with earrings so I thought to myself, why not bring this to Craftology by Bolly. Since the beginning of lockdown, I have been learning all the things I have been meaning to learn. I guess you can say that I am okay with lockdown and it was time well spent even alongside my 9-5 work! Here is to another one, cheers BOJO! At times I do feel lonely and crave the chats with my friends though, Facebook video calls and chatting in person is not the same. I much prefer to chat with my friends in person.
Product photography for Craftology by Bolly
As I’ll have a shining new website and a new product launch, I pray for sunshine this week so I can take some photos of the products that will be sold on Craftology By Bolly. I think it needs refreshing!
Writing blog post I had ideas for
I have so many ideas written on my phone’s notes so the two weeks break will be a good time to bring all of those ideas to life. I usually have random thoughts at such random times so the phone’s notes feature definitely came handy.
Read books
Usually, I would try to squeeze some reading into my daily routine just before bed but sometimes I am just so tired I can barely focus on the words. When I was commuting to work, I was able to read books on my commute to work but in COVID-19 days, that is no longer possible. The two weeks off will definitely give me some time to read the books that have been busy collecting dust on my bookshelf.
My tattoo appointment got cancelled
Welp, it is what it is… but yeah, my appointment got cancelled, sadly. I am planning on getting a Frida Kahlo tattoo cover-up on my other arm and was so excited about it. Now it has been pushed back to either December or January, a higher chance in January. At times like this, I can only be so understanding of the situation with everything that is happening. A tough time for all of us.
Seeing my friend Klaire
Boy, I have not seen my friend Klaire in basically forever and I am so excited to be seeing her for the first and last time before the 2nd lockdown. Recently she started a business called KabayanCrafts and I cannot be more proud of her!
Take Alice’s Illustrator course
Alice, my favourite content creator in the creative world recently launched a course and I purchased it so I can refresh my knowledge in Illustration. Transitioning from one job to another, I think this is a perfect time to refresh my knowledge since I have not been using Illustrator much in the role I left last Friday.
Learn art and start posting on @BollyFromTheBlog.Art
When I was younger I could draw, then that changed somewhere along the road because I did not practice. My family did not believe in the idea that one could earn an income by being a creative. So since the lockdown began, I have been busy playing Animal Crossing, drawing on my iPad, sewing, and crafting. Hopefully I have more time to create art just for fun on @BollyFromTheBlog.Art.
Have you got any plans for the second lockdown?
