From time to time, I’ll be sharing a list of random things happening in my life. I wasn’t sure how to call it, so I did hashtag research and see if this could be some sort of series that I could share from time to time. Welcome to the very first edition of My Darling Moments.
Craftology by Bolly #DarlingMoments
#1 – Craftology by Bolly’s website is now live
During my two weeks off work, I must say that I did miss work and I knew that it was going to happen hence why I thought it would be a wonderful idea to create a website for Craftology by Bolly to keep myself busy. I’m not going to lie, it did make me feel like having a real business after having a website. At first, it was just a hobby that got out of hand (and still is). Having a website to sell on with cute packaging to ship out to everyone who supported me makes it even more realistic!
#2 – Shipped out my first batch of orders

It really brought me joy to see everyone wearing my craft and to see some friends supporting my small business. Now, I am about to be very petty and share how I feel about something I have been keeping to myself for some time and only shared my thoughts with business gal pals I made in my new venture.
When I first started out in the business world, I gifted what I made to some friends because they said they’d support me, their words of encouragement kept me going (as a business). One day I thought to myself, what if I stopped giving it out for free, would they support me then? When I say support, I don’t necessarily mean to spend money but a share on your Instagram story, liking, commenting, saving my posts to help others discover my business, that in itself is enough but I guess the answer I received from my little experiment was very disappointing.
For old friends and new friends who supported, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.
#3 – Photoshoot for Craftology by Bolly

I had so much fun doing photoshoots for Craftology by Bolly. Although now I have work on weekdays, I have to plan the photoshoots for the weekend mornings. I find that the best time to take photos would be in natural light, however, now that we’re in the winter season, it is slightly more difficult. I bought a lighting kit for my camera but I still feel like it doesn’t give the same sort of effect as a natural light would. If you know of any good lighting for DSLR cameras please help a girl out!
#4 – Christmas Sale at Craftology by Bolly
I’ve finally launched a Christmas sale over at Craftology by Bolly. At first, I was going to do a Black Friday sale but I thought Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Christmas sale would be too close to another so I just launched one sale that should cover all the dates. I also feel like Black Friday sales give consumers some sort of pressure and I definitely don’t want anyone feeling that way.

#5 – Changing routines because of going back to work after a two weeks break
During my break, I pretty much enjoyed sleeping in for a while, most days until 10am. The first activity would be journaling with a cup of coffee. I then just work on Craftology by Bolly for the rest of the day. That was very much GOALS if anything but I know I still enjoy working in the digital world. Now going back to work and being in a new industry, there’s so much for me to learn!

#6 – Started playing Animal Crossing New Horizons again

After reading Animal Crossing articles on Daisybutter & Megan Portorreal’s blog, it inspired me to play Animal Crossing again. Here is the mistake I made. I time-travelled and I felt like because I was rushing the process, I then got bored very easily and did not put enough time or care into the journey and the story of the game, I was very focused on the trading part. I also got bored with villagers easily after inviting them to my island, one after another.
This time, I aim to not time-travel, I aim to put a lot of care into each area of my island so I can create my own cosy little island. I also aim to find villagers that I can keep and build connections with.
#7 – Learning to draw
I used to know how to draw until I lacked practice, with that being said, I thought if I learnt to draw again, I will be able to draw again. I started posting on @bollyfromtheblog.art as I said I would in this blog post. Although so far it is not a daily commitment, I am still having doubts about my skills, I know that’s just my ego speaking and making me worried and afraid people would not like my work. I have always been a firm believer in the fact that we as humans can learn to do anything we set our mind to.
When I feel confident enough, I hope to join in on monthly drawing challenges.
#8 – Watched some great Christmassy Netflix movies
This is the best time of the year for films if you ask me. If I were to choose between Christmas films or Christmas songs, I’d definitely opt-in for films because it won’t be too repetitive unlike songs are (perks of working in Mc Donald’s when I was younger haha! I listened to the same set of songs countless times!). I recently watched The Princess Switch Switched Again, Dash & Lily, My Christmas Inn, and Christmas Land.
#9 – Finished The Missing Crypto Queen podcast
I started listening to The Missing Crypto Queen last year when I was commuting to work, it was super addictive! Recently my friend told me they have some new episodes and to completely finish listening to everything, it took me one sitting.
For the benefit of those who haven’t heard of this podcast, this podcast is based on a real story of a woman who created this cryptocurrency; the company is run using the concept of pyramid scheme. Later on, she ran away and disappeared into thin air after some people found out that everything that they’ve invested in does not exist but it went to the creator of this. The podcast is about finding out who this woman this and hopefully catch her out on it.
#10 – Got up to date with Chameleon podcast
This one got me hooked! Imagine yourself as a creative trying to make your way into the industry but got scammed. You receive a phone call from someone who claims to be from a huge company. So here’s the catch, if you would like to be a part of this project, you’ll have to use your own money first… Of course, as a creative having an opportunity and since this is your first step into the industry, you’ll settle for any opportunities that come your way because opportunities like these don’t come around daily. Listen to this podcast to hear many stories of creatives who were scammed by the same person.
#11 – Started listening to Cults podcast
I have always been curious in cults and conspiracy theories, to see what else there are to discover behind what we see every day. The podcast does very in-depth research, case-by-case episodes for each theory they have. I’d highly recommend it if you’re interested in these kinds of topics.
Share with me!
If you’re a business owner, do you take photos in natural daylight or do you use a lighting kit, if you do, which one do you use and would you recommend it?
What’s your favourite Christmas movie? I am in need of some recommendations!
Do you listen to any podcasts? If so, which one? Would you recommend it?
