It’s that season where I usually start wrapping up this calendar year and start preparing for 2022. Currently sitting here in my craft studio on my computer, with hot chocolate on one side of the table, And Chai’s candlelit on the other, and typing away this blog post to reflect the month of November.
Went for a car viewing & a week after bought the car!
Only in September 2021, I thought of learning to drive, I blogged about it here quite recently about learning to drive at 26. Since then, I booked driving lessons, looked at some cars on Auto Trader and couldn’t resist viewing one just last week. This week (27th November) I went to finalise the car and bought it. This is a huge deal as I was expecting to buy the car towards the end of January or sometime in February but moved the plan months earlier. I don’t regret it, I loved the car as soon as I saw it. I am due to collect my car on December 10th, BEEP BEEP!
Starting a new module for my masters
University is going well in general although taking a lot of my spare time away from me. I hope it’ll be rewarding towards the end of it. I’ve got another year yet until I graduate. On the 1st of November, I started a new module in Marketing Research which was rather interesting. This very week I submitted the first assignment for the module and in December another assignment before we break up for Christmas. On that note, it was worth celebrating a small win; I received a grade back from my previous module and achieved a first. I am one happy girl.
Went to Manchester for a work trip
The last time I went to Manchester was exactly ten years ago with a group so going this time was different because I went by myself, although for a job, I do enjoy going to a new city. This is also my first ever trip away from home for one night since COVID-19. I felt a bit odd but I have to learn to get used to travelling life post-covid. Although next time, I’ll be going by car rather than going by public transport.
Started learning for my theory test
I first booked the theory test for April so I have enough time to learn. As the days went by, I realised that the questions were very quick to learn and with enough practice, it wouldn’t be too hard to pass. With that, I then moved my test to the 4th of February and then the 4th of January. So now my test is the first thing I’ll be doing this year. Once that is done and over with, I can just worry about learning to drive and taking the practical test.
Date night watching Uncle Roger
I booked the ticket for Uncle Roger’s stand up for Owen and me ages ago and realised as I was planning for my week this week that I do have this booked. So it was an unexpected date night which was nice. We headed to London after work on Thursday and went to Mamasons, had Chinese for dinner at Soho and headed home straight after. Although it was a short night, we enjoyed it regardless.
Forecasting plans for Moonwitch Studio
Since I have been so busy with other commitments, I somehow let Moonwitch Studio take the passenger seat which is not very ideal. This means that I didn’t make enough time for my hobby and all the things that were created for Moonwitch Studio are made from my hobby. So I intend to forecast for Moonwitch Studio for 2022 after writing this blog post and then stick to the plan by planning it straight after.
Putting up our Christmas tree
Finally… Usually, as soon as Halloween is over, my Christmas tree will be up. But this year with Dumpling living with us, I have some sort of fear of Dumpling climbing up the tree. Apart from that, my friend Marie and I have a tradition of buying a couple of baubles from Liberty each year, we buy the bauble theme that represents our year. This year I bought a typewriter and the moon. The typewriter represents our jobs and the moon for me represents Moonwitch Studio. Although I started my business last year, I rebranded to Moonwitch Studio this year.
When do you put up your Christmas tree? Do you have a Christmas tradition?
