As I sit here writing this blog post, I can fully say that I am super grateful for everything in my life and very proud for all that I have achieved so far. It is far from perfect but I am grateful for everything. Here is why: I have a roof above my head, I have a loving partner, I have a secure job working with a great team, I can treat myself to anything whenever I want to, I am able to pay my bills and able to save up even after all the bills are paid. Overall, I think I am in a great position and I should be grateful for it (which I am, very).
February was spent looking for a new house
Who said house hunting wasn’t a stressful process?! As organised as I am, we found a house to move into, paid the deposit, signed the contract and handed the notice to our current landlord (our new landlord gave us a green light and said it’s okay to hand the letter now).
A day later, the new landlord told us that he’s dropping our contract for his friends and tried to offer us another house which did not meet our spec. He was pressuring us and gave us a deadline of about 4 hours to decide so we never went with the house.
I spent the next two days stressing and calling agents, but no luck. On Friday of the same week just before I finish work at 4.40pm and was about to give up on the idea of calling anymore agents and to continue the search again next Monday, I called one last agent to ask about the house I just saw and they said I am just on time as the agent who picked up the phone said he was just about to call someone to offer the house to them but it sounds like we are in a better position financially so we will pass the checking process whereas another person most likely won’t.
After all the hectic couple of days, we found our dream home and we moved on the 22nd February, with about 10 days to spare at our old house.
Friends, they come and go, so let them
If the lockdown has taught me anything, it would be to make time for your friends, even if it wasn’t a call, a text would be nice.
I mentioned friends fairly often and that’s because once they’re in my life, they matter the most to me and I give them 8237326%. I have friends who make time for me and their other friends no matter how busy they are, because you make time for what’s important.
Putting my business on hold because I need a break
It has been a busy month and I was very exhausted from personal life and as my business is a side project, it is something that I can put on hold so I can focus on myself again.
